This had been a long day and Sophia was glad that the last step was recording the song, which didn’t take long. She needed to prepare herself for the upcoming college semester which would start soon and she also needed to think of plans of how she was going to change herself from Demi to Sophia while leaving the records. At first, it seemed like being such a great idea but the more she thought of it, the more troublesome it was getting. It made her wonder; how did they manage it to work for Hannah Montana? Ugh, right, it was just a friggin show!

There were having more and more rumors on her subject, as people tried to figure out where she was living and it was making her nervous, which was why she called it a break after needing to rest her voice and the band seemed to be relatively tired. She talked a bit to Dustin and to Simon as well as her other musicians and walked out of the recording room to take a seat think as she watched her band members interacting with one and another. They really were like a tight family; would they be mad at her once they found out who she truly was? She hoped not; she also didn’t want them to judge her for what she had done as privacy was a great thing to have. She sighed as she took the time to close her eyes in order to think of it all while trying to relax. She had been more nervous about things lately; such as Dustin, she began wondering about her feelings for him, now that she was aware that she loved him, she wondered about if he loved her too and if she should do anything about it. She was also stressing about the new things she would get to learn; hoping that things would be fine. All she wished for was life to be easier. She knew she didn’t pick the easiest path but she hoped that it would work out well in the end.

Gustavo sat in his office and had been listening to the recent recordings done by his new hit talents. These days it seemed like he had a lot on his plate and not a lot of time to rest his weary head. He had to keep delivering hits and it often led him to meltdowns that shook the entire building. Getting up and stretching his sore limbs he walked into the hall and spotted one of his talented singers in a contemplative state. When are they not, he thought to himself as he walked on over. He didn't know how she wanted to be addressed, and with her secret kept close to her and only a few select individuals any prying ear would likely catch wind and then it would all be over. Personally he would never choose such a life, if anything one identity suited him just fine. Big Time Rush had some problems in this department, though, eventually it just became part of their life and they never tried to run away from it. Clearing his throat he stood over her and folded his arms.

"Penny for your thoughts? I couldn't quite help noticing you over here...away from your band. If you needed someone to talk to...you know you can talk to me right? Yes I might seem unapproachable at times what with the stack of talent I have to go through, but, never be afraid to speak up...I will always listen to my artists." It was true, though it took him awhile to get used to being open with those working under him. Kelly was a big help in softening him up, though he hadn't seen much of her these days so it was just him running things. Motioning to the chair next to her he took a seat and rested his weight back.

Sophia bit her lips, wondering about how things could have gone wrong. Could you really blame her for wanting a second identity because of her past? She had been bullied back then and enough to the point where she didn’t want to show her face to the world while she was singing. Actually, it had taken her family a whole lot of time to try and convince her that she actually could sing and should try herself at the records which she did and here she was, having trouble with what she thought would be the best solution for her to go through such a world. She sighed, not seeing the man coming until he spoke and she looked up at him as he seemed concerned. She gave him a small smile, knowing he was right as she looked at her band. She even felt like betraying some of her band’s members as not all of them knew of her situation.

“What seemed to be an amazing idea, is starting to get rather complicated.” She admitted with a sigh. She wasn’t afraid to speak to Gustavo unlike a few people. He may be scary looking at times but she learned to look past appearances…besides, she’d be the one at fault if she didn’t do that now would she? “Should I really get rid of…that wig? As silly as it sounds, I’ve always been scared to perform as Sophia Lopez on stage. When I’m Demi, I feel like being someone different, with more confidence and someone who isn’t being made fun of.” Maybe Gustavo didn’t want to hear that from her but she really was starting to hesitate on how not so well this was becoming. “I don’t know about if I’m good enough to keep up with all this to be honest.” She hoped that her words wouldn’t worry Gustavo too much but right now, she really was having a down moment.

Gustavo listened and knew where she was coming from. A lot of his artists had reached a point in their career, both personally and on sound level and realized they needed to branch out and be true to themselves. To a lot of artists who took up Rocque Records it became a betrayal to themselves, and he had to fight them tooth and nail at the time to make another record. Sophia here had logistical thinking on her side, a part of her while kept secret needed to spread into another category altogether, a self titled album to truly explore the real her. Oh sure he was a tad worried about this move, knowing that it would isolate her from fans and the media, but if she kept up this regular gig with her band, needless to say she would forever beat herself up over it. Running his hand through what hair he had he looked over at the band. A band was like a family, one huge decision impacted them in a way more hurtful then say a singer striking out from a label to do something different. Taking a breath he controlled the immediate reaction of flinching, or letting a throbbing vein show.

"Sophia...I think you need time to think this through. Do not get me wrong, this is not a bad idea, I mean you have been donning that wig for a while now and have really done well with record sales and promoting the name of Rocque Records. Still, and this is where I am getting at, by taking time off you will begin to realize what decision needs to be made...and who to give the heads up to before the final bow. Just know that whatever decision you make...I am behind you all the way." To immediately take off the wig or tell her band would likely cause a ripple effect, and not a pleasant one at that. There needed to be time to adjust to change before she decided on striking out on her own, her own personal journey.

The thing was that she wanted things to stay how they were. If the band still wanted to perform with her once she was being Sophia and not Demi Love she would still be with them but if they didn’t, she would respect their choices. She had so many close friends in it, Sage and Dustin were her best of best and she didn’t want to let them down. Besides, she never considered herself capable to have a solo career…well, Demi was a solo singer in a way but she still needed the support of her band to help her out through the change.

She gave a small smile at Gustavo as he spoke to her, telling her that in the end, it was her decision and not his. She knew where he was coming from but she was hoping that someone would tell her that everything would be fine once she removed it. “I’m even surprised that people play along the ‘Hannah Montana’ idea.” She admitted. It was such a cliché one that probably people wouldn’t expect anyone to do that to begin with. The privacy it gave her however was priceless and she didn’t want to sell it to anyone.

“I guess I would start by telling this to my band, before making it public.” She said, thinking aloud now that Gustavo was with her. “And I’ll see where I’ll go from there.” She added. Sure, she would need time to think but at least, she knew that someone would support her in her decisions and she was thankful about it. She smiled at the older man. “I really like being able to go to College without anyone asking me for an autograph but I have a strong intuition that this time will soon be over.” She said with a hint of nostalgia.
