Lucy wasn’t one to usually go at the mall but she needed new jackets and clothes. Not to add that she also knew that the mall there had the best Punk/Gothic clothes she would want to find and it was why, she ended up being in this crowded place on her own. Camille had given her the tour once and to be honest, she didn’t think that she could actually survive a shopping day with the girl. She was nice but they obviously didn’t have the same kinds of clothing, at all and it was why she preferred going there on her own.

Holding onto her black studded purse, she wandered through the malls, wondering about where she would go first seeing she needed practically anything. It wasn’t going to be an easy task and she wasn’t exactly willing to spend the whole day here as she had wanted to keep on writing music and what not.

She blinked though as she went through the mall and thought she recognized Kendall. She hadn’t seen him since…the break and really, she liked hanging out with them. He was also someone very charming as he managed to win her heart before. She bit her lips at the thought but since she got over him and was trying to tell herself that she didn’t actually come back to LA for James, she went to him and smiled. “Hey Kendall, it’s been a while uh?” She asked casually hoping he would recognize her…of course, he would, who wouldn’t?

(Well I don't think Kendall will be ruining anything so a Kucy thing won't happen, but possibly rekindling a friendship might occur, we shall see. As it is I just woke up a little while ago and so we shall also see what I can manage post wise, lol)

Kendall was off to the mall to buy a razor. He was in need of a shave and maybe a haircut as well. The mall was packed as usual and no one seemed to notice he was Kendall Knight, former head of Big Time Rush. While the Band never really appointed a leader, it just came off naturally for him and the guys tended to look to him for advice before getting into a situation. Wearing a long sleeve shirt over blue jeans he had his hands stuffed in his pockets. It was then a voice from the past seemed to ebb away at his self conscious and turning around he spotted Lucy of all people. While their relationship had been brief before Jo had came back he still remembered her smile and her hard core like attitude. Of course he had moved on to Jo so nothing too romantic had occurred then, of course suffice to say his relationship with Jo also ended...for the second time.

"Hi stranger...fancy meeting you here...in such a public place like the mall," Kendall said trying to joke, though it was hard after all that had happened. Distance did make the conversation awkward, as he was sure Lucy had stayed there. "I seem to recall news of you working on a new album, I just want to say congrats. I mean just keep going strong...the music media needs strong people pushing the envelope...and from what I remember you did that a lot." He removed his hands as he moved them through his longer hair.

Lucy smiled slightly as she studied Kendall. He seemed…off compared to the other band’s members…well, despite the fact that she had only seem James who seemed to be okay with the Big Time Rush split. Kendall on the other hand, didn’t seem too…into it? She noticed his change of look and how down he seemed to be. Looks like I’ll have to pimp him up a little… thought the rebel. Even though their past relationship had been short, she always considered Kendall as a good friend of hers. They were so similar it was hard not to remain friends with him. Besides, all those silly challenges she liked to throw to him, it was fun. Now though, she didn’t think that Kendall would be into challenges as he was before but she would try to fix that.

“I know right?” She commented as he spoke of the mall. “Camille was actually the first person who…dragged me there, it’s not my kind of places but they have my kind of shops.” She explained as the kind of clothes she was wearing was pretty obvious to everyone by now. She nodded when he spoke of her new album. “Indeed and James wants me to do a duet with him for his album, it could be nice…” she paused and smiled slightly at him once again. “Hey, how about this, we could all do a collaboration, I could ask James about it and I’m sure he’d agree. What if we had a song all the three of us together?” she suggested. Hopefully it would somewhat change his mind on whatever seemed to depress him at the moment.

Kendall saw her studying him and knew he was worse for wear. After all, a lot of time had passed since Big Time Rush left the spotlight. However the one good thing that came out of it was it gave those who were still at the Palm Woods to soar and find their own beat. He imagined it was not easy with Big Time Rush around for most artists or bands to get noticed. Gustavo was probably busy with James's solo career and spotlighting new talents to bring Roque Records back into the scene. When Lucy spoke again he did his best to pay attention and not dwindle too much on the past. It was important to keep focused so he didn't get swallowed up in his indecision and heart ache. She spoke of Camille and it brought a slight smile to his face. He remembered she and Logan had been together, but, he imagined asking if they still were would likely be an awkward topic at best.

"You know Lucy, the way you bring up James, I'd harbor a guess you two are quite the item huh?" He was fishing, though a part of him knew they were together on account of James's cryptic emails about seeing a certain someone in their lives. Already ruling out Jo and that girl at the Halloween bash, it became evident Lucy would be in the picture. When the topic became about the three of them singing he wanted to jump at the chance...but being in a group would only remind him of what was...and for a guy like him who tried his best to hold the band together...it didn't seem wise. "Uh...thanks for the offer Lucy, but I think a duet would be nicer if it were just you and James. While the prospect of getting back into singing is tempting...I'm weighing my options of possibly acting as well. I guess that is why I am here...to clean up a bit."

Kendall definitely seemed off and it was sad to see. Lucy had to do something about it, what? She wasn’t sure yet but she would do anything to at least make him smile- a real smile, not the fake sad one that he was giving her right now. She could tell that he was affected by something and that this something was probably the Big Time Rush split. She supposed it was like a family break up of some sort and that Kendall seemed to be the most affected by it as she had only seen him and James- she didn’t know for Logan and Carlos as to how they were taking the news. She was glad to make him smile when she mentioned Camille’s name. The girl was nice, really and full of good intentions but the mall wasn’t just a place where Lucy would hung out at for hours. She most likely went there; bought the things she needed and left the place as fast as she could so she could hang out, for example, at the roller skating rink.

She tilted her head to the side, the moment he spoke of James and she quickly lifted her hand in dismiss, being in complete denial of what he said. An item? She and James? Nah…he didn’t know what he was talking about. “Nah, he doesn’t even know I came back for him-“ oh crap, did she just tell that to Kendall? She made a face and scowled for a moment before looking away. This was getting awkward, she had to think of a diversion.

She frowned a bit when he denied the offer. “Awe, really man? I think we would sound fantastic, all the three of us together!” she said. Though, hearing him bringing up the fact he might act was good news. “Oh, really? That sounds great then, I hope you find a decent show to star in.” she smiled at him. “Say, I was about to shop for clothes and since you look down and I don’t like to see you that way, how about you come with me? I’ll show you some cool places.” She smiled slightly at her proposition, hoping he wouldn’t say no to her.

"Ah ha...I knew something was there...well not really, still that is great news. To be honest, and while you are still frazzled, James has yet to have a serious relationship. I think you two would be perfect together, well that is just me. I am sorry if this makes it awkward and all, but James was one of my best friends growing up. Don't get me wrong...Logan and Carlos are really good friends, but me and James were the best of friends. So if there is anything I can do on that end to help you to see you two belong together...it sounds like a plan. I believe we can do this while you take me clothes shopping. I'm probably in need of new wardrobe anyway...so when you are ready you can lead the way."

Kendall was quite happy at the moment to know that someone like Lucy liked James. James needed a serious relationship to keep him grounded. Right now he was taking the route to be a solo singer...and there was always that difficult period where that person needed someone in their corner. When the band split they kept to emails and phone calls...which to be honest were nothing compared to when they could see each other at the Palm Springs.

"I'm not certain what show I will land on, but, honestly I would wish to be on one my mom can watch. She has done so much for me and has seen me rise as a star on albums, so if I make the transition to acting I want her to be proud of me. Anyway we should get going before the shops close up." Kendall smiled as he motioned for her to lead the way.

Lucy knew pretty well that James didn’t have a serious relationship…well; she knew that only when he was at Palm Woods; she didn’t know about if it was the case in his childhood and Kendall just confirmed her that he hadn’t. In a way, it wasn’t surprising much considering how flirtatious he actually was and most of the time she had to bring him back down to earth but James never going steady wasn’t news for her. She gave a small smile at Kendall as he reassured her on the fact that she would be good for him (though she wasn’t sure about if she should go right away and tell him about that). It was good to know that she had someone’s support. “Just don’t go around telling him that yet.” She said as she looked at her friend.

The punkette was glad to hear that Kendall was willing to come along with her and hit the shops; it wouldn’t be as boring as going with a girly girl like Camille (Not that she hated that from her friend but they were just different on that part). “Wonderful!” She exclaimed with a wider smile. She was glad that she was able to change Kendall’s mood a bit. She’d maybe have to talk it out to James since they were good friends, and hopefully still are. James would probably do a better job at convincing Kendall to do a song with the both of them. She grabbed her phone and quickly texted him that before putting it back into her bag.

She nodded at Kendall when they spoke of shows and movies. “I’m sure your mom is proud of you no matter what, they’re not like my parents.” She scowled a bit as she knew that her parents would have preferred her to be a classical music performer but it was far from the truth. Thanks to Kendall they became more understanding now but she knew deep down that they still didn’t get her choice. She smiled and pulled him along with her. “Come, I know a few places you might like!” She said with a slight smirk as she tried picturing Kendall with a punk style. Her first stop was an average jeans shop as it was where she got her black ones most of the time. “I like this place for jeans; they have a boys section over there if you want to give it a look.”

Kendall laughed as she said that. "You don't have to worry one bit about that Lucy. James and I...well...our communication isn't as great as it once was. He is usually quite busy and it is hard conversing without things getting...awkward. I will let you tell him, it is only fair considering if it came from me it would ruin the whole surprise. Also if I remember our friend predicate it strictly forbids the friend of the liked to actually reveal said name to the party of interest...or something of that nature." It was something they came up with in their hometown and every now and then they tended to forget and a lecture came following close by. It was such a long time ago they even made it up.

Kendall silently agreed with her on that front. Some people had an easier time with parents then others. He counted his lucky stars that he had such an understanding mother, after all, whose mother would move from their home to the big city in support of their kid? Yes his mom could be overprotective at times, but he knew deep down that she was afraid of him moving on. Even with his slight spiral he still received gifts from her in the mail or calls of encouragement that something would come through for him. He was only 19 but he felt 21 as the years seemed to drag him down. When they made it to a jean store he nearly took a step back at the amassing amounts of blues and blacks lining the wall and racks.

"Wow...those are a lot of jeans. I guess I will go...over there. If I don't come back come and reel me back with a fishing pole." Kendall headed over then, his green eyes taking in the skinny jeans as he held them up to himself before putting them back. This might take a while, he mused. Heading to another rack he found some more jeans till settling on some dark blue jeans. Heading inside to try them on he took a breath looking at the mirror image of himself. He really needed a shave.

Lucy felt bad for Kendall as he seemed to be really affected by the fact that he and James didn’t see one and another as much as they did before. It must be a shock for him not to be able to hang out like they did in the past. She knew that with all of them growing up- she included herself in the lot- would be a bit difficult to stay as in touch as they were before but she was confident that a bond as the one everyone from Big Time Rush had was hard to break. She’d just have to convince Kendall about it. Maybe she could try and talk it out to James. He’d probably know what to do better than she would. After all, she only dated him a few moments. She couldn’t call herself a long-time friend or anything. “Thanks for not telling him, I don’t even think I’d be ready…to do that.” She shrugged and smiled a bit at him as she lead the way towards the jeans shop.

When she was in the said establishment, she looked around, going straight towards to the darker jeans section or the ones which were slightly ripped off. She laughed a bit as Kendall seemed to be a bit thrown off by the number of jeans there had in it. “Just scream LUCY if you’re in trouble, I should find you in the middle of the jeans.” She said teasingly before going to her section. She liked having a style of her own and those kinds were what she was looking for. She grabbed a pair of black stretches jeans and two others.

She went to the dressing rooms and tried on the first pair of jeans that fit her perfectly, she walked outside of her cabin a bit and once she was satisfied with it she decided on trying the second one. She tried them all and opted for the two firsts she had tried. Once she was done she went to find Kenall. “You’re still alive Kendall?” She asked loud enough for him to hopefully hear over the loud music.

Kendall smiled as he found the jeans to be a great fit. It was a good thing he was in such good health...other wise he would be worrying his butt was too big. However he found them a tad too tight and he threw his weight about just to get out of them. Once out of them he caught his breath before looking at the other jeans he picked. Sliding the next pair on he found them to be a better fit, enough room to breathe and really worked his figure well. Honestly he never really looked at himself as terribly handsome or good looking, if anything James was the looker of the group. Hearing Lucy outside he laughed lightly, figuring he should pretend to yell out or pretend that the pants were squeezing the very life out of him. That prankster like side of him thrived on getting loose, but, he restrained himself knowing they were working on a friendship here. Walking out in the jeans he chose he gave a little spin, just for show.

"I am alive and kicking. It would seem the jeans have chosen me...and I have humbly accepted. How went your own search? Did you come away with a good haul or were you wanting to look around a little longer?" Kendall asked. Realizing he still wore the jeans he held up a hand as he went to go change. Calling out to her he decided to talk more about James. "So Lucy...when was the first time you realized James stole your heart? Was it while Big Time Rush was together or was it after the split?" Kendall called out when he got back into his normal comfortable jeans.

Lucy looked around until she found Kendall as he walked out of his dressing room, dressed with a new pair of jeans. She grinned, tilting her head to the side as she looked at him. He had changed, but he was definitely good looking still. She whistled slightly before grinning. “Girls are going to be all over you if you wear that!” She said teasingly. It had been a while ago since they had dated and she had accepted the fact that he liked Jo and not her (and thus, even if it was a hard thing to do for her). Besides, now that she had moved on, it was easier to talk to Kendall again and just to fool around with him. “You should definitely take these, they fit you perfectly.” She grinned at her friend and nodded in approval. “So glad I’m not alone here in the mall, even if my shopping expertise isn’t compatible with Camille’s it’s still nice to spend time with someone.” She commented and chuckled a bit at her words.

She showed him the two pairs of pants she had chosen. “I was lucky too, we both will leave the shop with a purchase, I say it’s a good beginning for shopping!” She exclaimed with enthusiasm. She wrapped her hands around herself as she waited for Kendall to go back and change. She laid her back against a nearby wall and listened to him as he questioned her with James. She was a bit shy talking of him in a public place but she assumed that people wouldn’t listen to what she said and that they wouldn’t know the James they were talking about was still the James from Big Time Rush…that is if people still recognized Kendall with a beard. “Before I went to my tour, while you were still together I guess.” Even she wasn’t sure of how it happened, but it happened.

Kendall wanted to laugh at that. The last girl he was with had been Jo. Boy, it seemed forever since the two were actually an item. The last time they were together was during Big Time Rush's fourth album, or was it their third album? Anyway the split really shook him hard and even Jo's love and support wasn't enough for him. It was much like the airport, watching her go, but in reverse this time. Each one of the friends he grew up with walked off in separate directions and he left the Palm Woods. Gustavo tried to convince him to do a solo album, strike it out on his own, but he refused adamantly knowing that he wasn't ready professionally or personally. A part of him wished he could go back...prevent the split and possibly salvage what he could of his and Jo's relationship. The funny thing about the past was you couldn't turn back the hands of time nor could you rearrange the dialogue so it fit like a fairy tale where everything ended up perfect.

Camille, just the name alone reminded him of her acting. She always wore those costumes and performed with such character that no one could ever tell her she didn't fit the part. She had been dating Logan and once again he was tempted to ask if they were still seeing each other. His communication with Logan was often through voice mail as he was busy pursuing a career as a doctor. Much like him and Jo those two went through a rough patch. Sometimes there was just that someone special, perfect for you, and suddenly it is over and you flail about like a fish on land. The difficult thing was moving on. Sure shopping with Lucy took his thoughts off of where he would go next, but it would eventually have to be answered. Gustavo had taken on other singers and thus was too busy to reach to pursue any options viable for a young available singer like himself.

Stepping out with some jeans slung over his shoulder he smiled. "Hey Lucy, thanks...you know for helping me out. I know I'm not much in regards to company, what with my disheveled look and all that. You are a good friend...and I know you will make a great girlfriend for James. So where to from here then?" Kendall asked heading up to the front to pay for his clothes.

(I figured some backstory to Kendall was needed here, sort of flesh him out more. Hope that it is ok and all. I know in the current season they were working on a third album so wasn't sure if the split happened after or another album later and then a mutual split. I also threw more Jo into it. Not sure I have said anything of it before, so, here's hoping)

Lucy wished she could do anything for Kendall and if spending time with him at the mall – even if it wasn’t a think guys usually did would cheer him up, well, she would let that be! He was a good friend of hers and she wouldn’t let him down in any way. She was even surprised at herself for seeing him that way after the breakup she had been through with him in the past. It only proved to her that she was strong enough to actually move on without much of a fight. Even if she hadn’t been particularly nice when she wanted to say that her album was about the breakup with Kendall, which she ended up not doing in the end but what was in the past, remained in the past and she was convinced that she would manage to help him out in one way or another. She waited for him to change back into her original pair of pants while she got a text back from James telling her he was in for the collab they could do with Kendall. She smirked at it. Perfect; he wouldn’t have the heart to say no to both of her and James now would he? She would just have to plan something to convince him into doing it, which shouldn’t be too hard with the help of his best friend.

She nodded approvingly when he stepped back and smiled when he thanked her. “Hey, it’s the least I could do, really!” She reassured him. She may seem like those cliché you had about punk people, the violent ones with a scary look but in reality Lucy had always seen herself as a rebel with a soft heart…she just didn’t speak of that one to everyone. Besides, when you got to be her friend, you figured out that point rather easily.

She was glad that her friend would approve of her relationship with James…if it ever came to be. It showed her that at least, someone was giving her support. They went to pay for the clothes and Lucy pulled out her credit card, telling the woman that she would pay for Kendall’s jeans. “That one’s on me, as a gift for a new kind of friendship.” She said with a grin. Besides, being a rock star she had enough money to buy the entire building if she wanted. Smirking, once again, she thought of the next shop. “I need new leather jackets, I’ll find that in a nearby shop; luckily, all the things I need are relatively close to one and another. I think there are a few things that would suit your tastes at that.” She smiled confidently. Yeah, she would bring old Kendall back…or a renewed happier kind of Kendall back.

Kendall would've protested but found that arguing with Lucy would be a losing battle on his end. So he gave in and let her pay for him. It wasn't like he didn't have money left over from his day in Big Time Rush. In fact, he could buy his own acting company or even a studio if he so pleased...but he realized that would be too much for him alone. He didn't want Gustavo's job, he already saw how much stress it gave him as it was. To run a acting company was promising but it would give him little time to be in front of the camera and show what promise he had in the acting field. Once his jeans were paid for he listened as she talked of going to find leather jackets. Honestly he didn't think leather would help him out in the heat wave that was hitting L.A. at the moment, still, if she said there was stuff there that might suit him all the better. So as he walked out of the store he stretched his arms and looked at his watch.

"How about after this store we hit the food court? I had some cereal for breakfast and I am starving. I will pay...just cause you already paid for my clothes and all. How is the Palm Woods these days? I haven't really been there in a while and it isn't like I haven't wanted to...I...well I just don't feel mentally prepared for the impact it would have upon setting foot in it again. I know my little sister is acting, but, what of the other residents there? Oh and don't say why don't you see for yourself...when I am ready I will step foot in the lobby again...when everything is better. Is this the place?" Kendall stopped before a store that had some leather jackets. Sooner or later just like the music store he went into he would have to face his fears and move on, but, for now he was content looking in.

Lucy smiled slightly with satisfaction as she saw that Kendall gave up on even trying to argue with her. No one could win an argument over her, not even Camille…unless she decided to speak without even breathing for fifteen minutes straight, then she would get tired of it and let Camille win but other way… She was well aware that both she and Kendall had enough money to buy the entire mall if they could but she felt like she should at least do that for him. She really wanted to see him smile again and be as lively as he used to be. Right now he seemed to be just like a shell without a soul inside. Not that she thought he was heartless but seeing him this down worried her a bit and she would have to talk it to James a little next time she would see him. They both walked out of the store heading to the leather jackets one. She liked to have more than one style in store even though she had a favorite jacket.

She looked at Kendall as he proposed food after this store and nodded. “Sounds good, my breakfast is a bit far in my stomach now as well so it won’t hurt me at all to have something to keep me on my feet while I keep you entertained in the various shop I’ll drag you in.” she said teasingly to her friend. She nodded as he spoke of Palm Woods and could understand him in a way for not wanting to go back to Palm Woods yet; it had to bring him memories of the past, she didn’t know about if he still liked these or not. “Palm Woods is doing fine, you know, I suspect Camille for bringing life to it with the various roles she’s having still. I’m sure everyone is going to miss her though when she will live in a different place though.” She laughed a bit.

“If you do come, call me, I’ll make sure you don’t get too freaked out when coming back.” She smiled. “I could even get you a welcoming party.” She said teasingly as she smiled sweetly at her friend. She looked at the shop he spoke about and nodded. “Yup, that’s the place and look,” she pointed at one of the mannequins in the front of the shop that had one of the jackets she wanted, this one wasn’t black but deep red. “I’m going to make a change and get a red jacket…of course I want a black one but I thought it would match my hair.” She added with a grin. Okay, maybe speaking of fashion with Kendall wasn’t the best thing to do but she knew his taste would suit hers more than Camille’s would.
