Damon has a hard time making friends. Because he is over confident, cocky, and hot headed. He also is a bit of a loner. Damon knows friends tell each other everything and he likes to keep to himself. Not to mention Dan tells him he has no time to make friends. Only best friend he has ever made and kept has be Stefan.

Is just a stupid word in his book. He more enjoys the little flings and hook ups. In the back of his head he wouldn't mind friend someone he could open up too, but finds that hard to believe. Also like his mothers husband says. Relationships are a distraction. But other then what his parents care about, he loves one person only in his life time Elena, he screwed that up. So staying single is best in his eyes.

I can see Damon making a lot of these. Mostly from his temper and him always having to be the best no matter what. He also hates people who are better then him or who think they are better then him.
