Summer was always great, however, Sophia always liked to stay updated when it came to studies. It was why she decided to spend most of the afternoon at the library to study chemistry and biology. Those were two of her favorite subjects at school. Maybe she was overdoing it but she enjoyed staying in touch with school, especially now that she was busy being a famous singer half of the time. Besides, it was best for her to take a few steps forward since she was taking her studies at heart. Being undercover had its good sides and even though her family and friends who knew told her that she should remove that wig for good, she couldn’t part away from it that easily. She had been bullied in the past and it hurt and that cover of a confident girl while she technically wasn’t the most confident person was the best thing that could have happened to her. No one was judging Sophia Lopez.

Not to add that she was having somewhat a peaceful time out here at Palm Woods while no one recognized her. It was better that way. Shaking her head, she blinked as she heard a loud thunder crash sound outside and saw the lights turning off – she remembered of the horribly gray sky outside. No doubts, it was bound to happen and was what made her go inside the building faster. She heard a few people who were there speaking one to another and it made her realize one thing…would she have to use the stairs to walk up? She could call her brother to bring her light but the manager of the place reassured the people saying they would have electricity back, shortly. She grabbed her phone to give herself some light and began texting her siblings hoping they were indeed in her apartment.

There was a flash of light and then nothing. Oh great... Heaving a sigh, Jo put down the romance novel that she had just been in the middle of reading when the power went out. She knew a storm was supposed to blow over, but she didn't count on it taking the power out. Feeling around on the table for her bookmark, Jo was relieve to find it quickly so that she could place it and close her book up. She wanted to hold out hope on the power coming back, so for a long moment she just sat alone in the dark.

Finally deciding that her reading endeavor was done for the day, Jo stood up and started to make her long trek out and to the exit. On her way there, she caught site of a familiar face bathed in the light of a cell phone. Delighted to maybe have some company, the blonde walked over to her friend and took a seat before announcing her presence. “Hey there Soph, lovely weather we're having huh?" Jo crossed one leg over the other and made herself comfortable, not really feeling like taking on mother nature in that moment any more.

Sophia knew that she wasn’t the only one here waiting in the lobby for the light to go back up but she wasn’t expecting Jo to come and talk to her. She startled at first, almost dropping her phone as she heard her familiar voice. The storm didn’t help into adding more…scardiness in the situation. Still, she relaxed when she recognized the female and smiled shyly at her. “Hey, Jo, it’s quite bad indeed, I was lucky to walk in before it started getting nasty.” It was a relief; she couldn’t imagine herself into the middle of the storm. Using her phone, she looked at around her and Jo trying to see if there weren’t anyone else she knew here like Dustin or her siblings. They were probably in their apartment by now, or somewhere else.

She looked out of the window, seeing the various flashes coming from the lightning bolts and shuddered. “I’m just glad I’m not alone, and we don’t have it during the evening.” She smiled; knowing huge storms like this one frightened her. She was a bit nervous but the company of others and Jo made her feel more at ease. “What have you been up to? Are you going to star in a new movie?” She asked casually. She may be someone shy but she wasn’t shy to the point of stuttering, besides, Jo was someone very easy to talk to and didn’t make Sophia too nervous. It almost made her wonder why she was having no trouble being Demi Love while on an average daily basis she was so shy. She figured she would never know. Oh well.

"Yeah, alone is never fun..." That had more meaning then she cared to really worry about at the moment. Rebounding from her moment of darkness, Jo continued to smile warmly at her friend. “As a matter of fact, yeah I'm in the process of read-throughs for this new movie, but I can't say much at this time, what with contract and all." Another flash of lightening caused Jo to momentarily turn he gaze out the nearest window. A few girls even let a squeal, it amused Jo just a little bit.

Turning back to her friend once more Jo wondered what she could ask Sophia as a return question. A way to keep the convo going more-a-less. “So what have you been up to? School work? Maybe you have a cute guy on your mind?" Jo playfully nudged Sophia, knowing full well that perhaps her shyness might not allow her to openly talk about this sort of thing freely. “You don't have to answer that last part if you don't want to. I just thought I would ask, just in case yah know?" Sometimes Jo had thoughts of maybe taking her out and playing wingman for her, but Jo was really not ready to be on the dating scene yet, regardless of the circumstances.

Sophia stared at Jo for a few moments, wondering about what she meant by her words but decided not to question her about that unless it was important. Jo was always such a friendly girl and she hoped that someone would make her even happier. She never spoke of boys unless they were really cute and sexy together and then again, Sophia wasn’t one to talk of them, not when she was herself. As Demi, she wouldn’t mind but when it came to her it was a whole different story. She relaxed in the company of her friend and smiled when she spoke of a new movie. “That’s great, I don’t think I’d be able to do that kind of thing, you know, acting and all.” She giggled. “I can be so clumsy directors would lose patience with me.”

She smiled when Jo spoke of school but blushed as soon as Jo brought up boys. She never really dated anyone or hung out with boys, unless it was Dustin but he was different; he had always supported her no matter what and she didn’t know what she would do without him. She shrugged a little. “I want to make sure I’m good with my subjects for school, I want to keep my top grades.” She smiled at Jo. She had always been the studious type. She thought about Jo’s mind again as she asked about a cute one and paused. Rethinking of Dustin again. Was he cute? She figured he was, well, at least, he was adorable and good looking, for her. She never really admitted that to anyone. It made her question herself about him. Did she maybe like him? She couldn’t tell, she never stopped herself to think of it.

She looked down at her hands, seeming to be in deep thoughts as she pondered over it. They had been best friends since forever but what was the kind of affection she had for him? “I don’t know… I’ve mostly hung out around with Dustin and Antony.” Jo knew Antony was her brother but she rarely talked of Dustin to anyone. She mostly kept things like that to herself but Jo made it easy for her to talk of these things. Plus, it wasn’t like she said anything about him, just that she hung out with him.

"Oh I wouldn't be too harsh on yourself. I'm sure you'd make a fine actress." And yet, as interesting as the idea was, working with Sophia, she was now eager to hear more about this girl’s love life. Of all her friends she knew the least about So and it was beginning to bother her just a bit. “So then the lucky boy's name is Dustin? Or are you into Anthony? Do either of them know that you might like one of them?" She leaned into her friend a bit, knowing full well that she was laying it on a little thick, but she couldn't let Sophia crawl back into her shell without some kind of fight.

“You know, if you ever need help getting the point across I could always be your wing man." At that Jo leaned back into the chair taking a more casual posture. She had made her point and now it was time to see how Sophia would take the idea. To Jo, the girl before he was almost like her own little duckie that was in need of a light nudge out of the pond and into the world. “Just so you know...I would never force you to do anything you weren't comfortable with, it's just...well it's just a thought."

Sophia gave a small smile at Jo as she said she could make a decent actress. Well, if she considered that she was able to perform and be someone completely different while wearing that blonde wig to be Demi, she supposed that Jo was right. She honestly preferred singing and playing the guitar but she kept that thought to herself. She blinked and blushed when Jo began her questionning until she spoke of Anthony. Sophia smiled and giggled softly at it. “Anthony is my brother, of course he knows I love him.” She smiled playfully, since it was obviously a sibling kind of love she had for him. But then Dustin…did she actually like him or not? Well, she loved spending time with him but was that enough to be actually labelled as having feelings for him? Ugh, this was getting confusing. “Dustin is my best friend, I’m not sure about if I like him…”she trailed off, why was she having butterflies in her stomach while speaking of him? She could feel her cheeks burning even more at the thought and she was grateful for the electricity to be out for now. She backed away a little when Jo came closer to her.

She shook her head at her proposition. “I-I think I-I-I’ll be fine…” she was unable to hold her stutter back. Did she love Dustin? She startled once again when she heard another thunder. “Oh I know you don’t have to worry about that.” She was able to get rid of her stutter for now but she had a feeling it might come back to her if they spoke more about Dustin.
